ILLUSTRATION

ILLUSTRATION

The illustration above is from a unit from my Masters degree. I was focusing on digital drawing and inspired by old PlayStation 2 horror videogames, and the early 2000’s ‘low-poly' aesthetic.

Digital Folklore

Carrying on with the PlayStation 2 horror aesthetic, as well as research into ‘digital folklore’, I created the two artworks below. They are both related to one another, beginning the creation of a world/story.

The video was drawn digitally on Procreate, animated on After Effects, and then sound added in Premier Pro. The illustration was drawn digitally on Procreate, then edited in Photoshop.

PRINCESS ST. ZINE

During my masters, we were tasked to create and print a zine resembling our journey from before beginning the degree to during. My response highlighted the trials of moving to Manchester, coming from a smaller place. I used Procreate to digitally draw the sketched aspects. I then layered over scanned, painted elements using different blending modes and opacities on Procreate and Adobe Illustrator

Design

To the right are some designs from my final Masters project. My research, as well as PlayStation 2 horror games and the 2000’s, included the ‘Numetal’ Aesthetic. I created responses that included heavily glitched posters, as well as instruction manuals for the project. Created on Adobe Illustrator.

My formula/ Chindz formula:

To the right is a design for a poster, inspired by old 2000’s tech adverts, showcasing a formula I created for my Masters research. It is my own algebraic formula to describe my creative process.

Formula: x=(Sketchbook+Procreate)+(AfterEffects+PremierPro)
